Kim Harvey
Executive Director
Kim has 34 years of teaching, mentoring and directing experience in the field of Education and Child Development. She came to HELC in 2006 as an Education Mentor with First Chance for Children to assist with the implementation of the ELLC in our preschool room for three years. In 2009, she became the Executive Director and is honored to be working with the children and families in our community.

Michelle Ewens
Assistant Director
Michelle has 18 years of child care experience that includes operating her own home daycare, teaching in child care centers and supervising at a child care center in Columbia, MO. She was a preschool teacher at HELC from 2014-2015 and has been the Assistant Director since September 2024. Michelle is excited to be back in the Harrisburg area mentoring our teachers, assisting with classrooms and working with our families.

Lisa Baker
Administrative Assistant
Lisa has 27 years of experience teaching and managing in the field of Education and Childcare. She was hired at HELC in 2003 as an infant/toddler teacher. Over the years, she has operated a home daycare, served as a board member, infant toddler teacher, Assistant Director, manager of the kitchen staff at the public schools, and recently returned to HELC to teach in 2023 and became Administrative Assistant in August 2025.
Our Team.....
At Harrisburg Early Learning Center, we have a wonderful team of educators to care for children ages 3 weeks to 13 years old and a cook/nutrition aide that prepares nutritious meals and snacks for the children throughout the day.
All staff and volunteers must pass the background process of fingerprinting and receive a clean screening through the Family Care Safety Registry. Staff members receive CPR and First Aid training and complete 12 hours of professional development trainings each year.
